familiar with government contracting work (FARS and DFARS) and know how to respond to government positions with respect to IP; (3) comment/advise on the division of rights: what belongs to SRI, government; (4) support scientists and BD team; (5) advise on deals regarding IP spinoffs (eg Siri).

IP at SRI is its product and what generates revenue. Entities will come to SRI to commission product (eg emotion detectors in cars --> drowsiness technology for Toyota or dark web search engine for the government). The candidate must be detail oriented, curious, and have good bedside manner when dealing with clients. 10-15 hours/week, onsite in Menlo Park (once things get back to normal), ASAP for approximately 1-2 years.

Their senior licensing attorney is leaving in three weeks. He has 25 years of experience and has been at SRI for over 10 years. He only works PT ($113K year) so they're looking for someone to take on this work until their patent agent graduates law school in about 2 years. Very budget conscious: 10-15 hour estimate based on our rates and the existing employee's $113K/year. This only reason they are willing to look at mid-level is bc of rate. Person needs to be curious and detail-oriented (even minor mistakes are frowned upon); a lot of people do not fit in at SRI. People are very cordial and nice but very smart and don't really put up with mistakes. IP is SRI's product so it's VERY important. The money makes are SRI are people on the IP team so this is a very important position.
