Job Description
DUAL North America Inc , a national Specialty Program Administrator focusing on Property & Casualty insurance products, is seeking an Underwriting Assistant. This position is located in the Charlotte, NC office. This position employs skills and attention to detail in supporting business critical underwriting activities from information gathering to rating for new business as well as renewals and midterm changes and electronic file preparation. This position places emphasis on flood insurance. Essential Functions : Review carrier underwriting manual to ensure basic understanding of the risk eligibility requirements and the general specifications of the program(s) that are managed in the business unit. Working with underwriters confirming policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, and other required documentation. Assist with renewal process and renewal solicitation to agents and brokers Accurately compile supporting account detail in electronic format while collaborating with others to ensure timely, accurate completion of all assigned tasks. Generating agent/broker correspondence in electronic format (i.e., e-mail, eFax) related to transaction processing and informational follow up requests using free-form letters, predefined or approved templates. Telephone support assisting agents in the general production during normal business. Provide support to users of DUAL flood technology platform via email and telephone, as needed. Assist with online issuance capability, check for accuracy and quality and send to the agent Assuming a leadership role as it relates to application of processes and procedures associated with the position's responsibilities Competencies : Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Strong organizational and planning skills Ability to collaborate as a team and respond to changing business needs Ability and willingness to learn new computer software Excellent communication skills, including telephone and email, for internal and external business Required education or experience : Bachelor's degree Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's degree in insurance or risk management  Knowledge of the underwriting process and required forms/ endorsements DUAL North America offers competitive salary and benefit packages as well as a corporate culture that will allow individual advancement opportunities and participation in the growth of the company.
