Job Description
Job Description Description: Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Electro-Optical (EO) Design and Analysis Engineer for an exciting Orlando Florida position. The EO Engineer must have the following experiences and capabilities: - Experience with EO radiometric modeling and analysis in MATLAB, MathCAD, Python, etc. - Experience with EO data reduction including IR camera noise characterization from blackbody data and assessment of camera resolution from Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) data, - Ability to troubleshoot EO camera performance from data analysis, - Ability to operate/maintain EO camera functions during lab/field data collections and I&T, - Integration and test experience with turreted EO Systems, - Strong Interpersonal and written skills, - Self-starter personality; ability to multitask, - Ability to assess integration risks and plan mitigation options. In addition, experience with InSb and nBn focal planes, ROICs, cryo-coolers, and cooler controllers is required. The candidate should be knowledgeable in solid state Laser technologies associated with directed energy Laser architectures including continuous and pulsed high-energy fiber lasers and low-power beacon and target illumination lasers. Basic Qualifications: Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform some combination of the following Electro-Optical Engineering assignments: Demonstrate knowledge or experience of EO systems consisting of advanced optical/infrared material and coatings. Demonstrate experience of EO systems consisting state of the art sensors, and advanced Laser systems. Demonstrate knowledge or experience in radiometric EO analysis and simulation. Perform design and analysis of EO candidate systems for both ground and airborne sensor suite applications. Demonstrate an ability to define and/or access and utilize target threat signatures in EO modeling. Demonstrate the ability to utilize MATLAB when running EO performance analysis simulations or developing target models. Conduct parametric studies to support advanced EO targeting sensor and seeker development. Perform design trade studies and system verification analyses to optimize candidate system performance, cost, size and weight. Model design solutions that can be fabricated for laboratory test and characterization prior to development. Perform design and specification of instrumentation for integrated system level tower and field testing. Ability to obtain an interim security clearance and considered a US Citizen.
